Firefly Episode 4: Shindig

I just finished watching the fourth episode of Firefly, Shindig. This is all I gotta say about that;

The Firely Complete Season DVD: P 1925
Movie Ticket to Serenity: P 110
The look on Kaylee when she attended the ball in that dress: Priceless

JOSS WHEDON’s comments on this: “…The thing that blew me away the most in this was Jewel [Kaylee] in her big old dress, which was just about the cutest thing I’d seen in a long time. The way she plays it, she is just so adorable. It’s happened with all of them, but it was a moment for me when I said, “Oh, okay, she’s a star, too.â€? And, hey, floating chandelier – what more could you ask for?…”

Imelda Marcos’ US$10-M worth of gems may be auctioned in RP

“FORMER First Lady Imelda Marcos’ vast collection of shoes and gowns and eye-popping jewels worth 10 million dollars could soon be auctioned off…”

The article didn’t really specify that the auction would be held here in the Philippines.

But, it made me think though (i know, i know, that’s a real stretch for me), but am I correct in assuming that maybe, the only persons who could afford these are the new breed of corrupt people? The ones who are looting the country now?

So, now, follow me here…. This is symbolic to the passing of the mantle from the old generation to the new generation.

Robot claims ‘treasure island’ booty

A robotic treasure hunter has laid claim to the find of the century, on the very archipelago that inspired the novel Robinson Crusoe….
By some estimates the haul would include 800 barrels of gold ingots, silver pieces, gems and other riches worth up to $10 billion. Naturally, the promise of such fabulous wealth has attracted scores or treasure hunters to the island in the past…”

Just overnight, that island would be teeming with scanvengers, I tell you. Wouldn’t this also spark renewed interest on that fabled Yamashita treasure said to be buried here in the Philippines.

Maybe GMA would pass an executive order proclaiming that any treasure found in the Philippines should be given to her first for “safekeeping” or something like that. You know, for national interest…

Joss Whedon Interview about Firefly and Serenity

Excerpt:

“Q[Russell]: I’m sorry — ‘Serenity’ is the one we’d want to talk about.

A.[Whedon]: I mean, of course, some people are thinking of both…. But if I was going to pitch ‘Serenity,’ I’d say it’s a space adventure that involves the lowliest of people in the most mundane of circumstances getting caught up in something giant and epic — without lasers, aliens, or force-fields to protect them….”

Real cool interview of Joss Whedon about Firefly, and Serenity. It has even a couple of sprinklings of Buffy and Angel, his earlier stuff.

And so it begins…

“… a Marine general and his deputy yesterday disobeyed an order by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo banning administration and military officials from congressional hearings and were swiftly sacked….

How does this apply to the common good of our country again? GMA’s order, I mean. I kind of got lost here… I’m not really that smart…

Anyone?

I just found out God’s name!

And it’s JOSS WHEDON! Well, not really. But I’m pretty much sure JOSS is close to being a god.

Firefly is just one hell of an awesome show. I’ve heard people swear by it but not until now have I seen the light. This is how I would picture Han Solo and Chewie if they didn’t join the rebellion.

Firefly is just that sweet.

Mal, Zoe, Wash, Inara, Jayne, Kaylee, Simon, River, and Shepherd Book. Firefly truly rocks. In just an hour or so in the first episode and I’m hooked. This is one hell of a show and I tell you, I’ll be burning the midnight phosphors going thru all the episodes.

Well, I have to you know. Serenity, the movie based on this series is just around the corner!

Why men die first

Here’s some from the site…

If you work too hard, there’s never any time for her;
If you don’t work enough, you’re a good-for-nothing bum.

If you try to keep yourself in shape, you’re vain;
If you don’t, you’re a slob.

If you buy her flowers, you’re after something;
If you don’t, you’re not thoughtful.

Hack A Day

hack a day serves up a fresh hack each day, every day from around the web and a special how-to hack each week.

Real cool site. It’s got projects like how to build a telephone recording circuit from an old modem, retractable wolverine claws, or even your own generator!

Alas! Still no Friendster hacks here boys and girls.

Google Hacks, Friendster Hacks, Yahoo Hacks, and all those other hacks

Real cool Google hacks. Not all of them are available though. And some would require knowledge of Google’s API.

Oh and to all those people who think there are tried and true easy ways to hack into those email sites (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) or those social networks (Orkut, MySpace, Friendster, etc.). Mozy on to this site. Read all the comments to get a general idea.

Yup. You guessed it. There is none available. Isn’t it pathetic to see all those people begging? I even saw two or three from the Philippines. Thar was a time when the best way to find out if your hunch or paranoia is correct is to ask the person directly. Now, it’s thru hacking the email or website.

Pitiful.
